Now, I can proudly say that I’m currently a student at Polytechnique Montréal, in software engineering and A1 had a big part in securing a good futur for me.

I wasn’t a particularly brilliant student during my first years in primary school, and I also had a lot of difficulty understanding French, math, and sciences. However, with the great help of the amazing A1 tutors, along with their enthusiasm and their encouragement, my teachers, my parents, and everybody surrounding me noticed a massive improvement of my grades at the end of primary school. I maintained that level of academic performance and finished high school successfully with high grades as well. Après un passage de près de quatre ans comme tuteur à A1 Tutorial entre 2015 et 2019, je peux témoigner à quel point cet emploi ne fut pas comme les autres… J’ai tout d’abord rencontré à A1 une équipe dynamique qui a rapidement su m’inclure et m’enrichir de conseils afin de devenir meilleur tuteur. Les jeunes que j’ai eu la chance de côtoyer au travers de ces années m’ont toutes et tous profondément marqué par leur politesse, leur bonne humeur, ainsi que leur persévérance académique. Comme tuteur, se rendre à A1 ne me donnait pas l’impression d’aller travailler, mais plutôt le sentiment de réellement faire une différence dans la vie des jeunes.

I have tutored for many years, but nothing comes close to my experience at A1 Tutorial. From the students eager to see their peers every day in a positive environment to the amazing colleagues who became friends, what makes A1 special is the people. Behind A1 Tutorial, is Mr. Kazi Alam Babu who holds every single student’s success at the core of his work. Students are accompanied daily in completing their homework, they review their lessons in smaller classrooms which is key when their daily lives at schools are more crowded, and some may have a hard time catching up. Monthly exams are held to track their progress and parents-tutors communication is very accessible. All in all, my experience at A1 has been wonderful.

I have had the pleasure of being a tutor at A1 for over 3 years. Working with the students from elementary all the way to their CEGEP years has been truly rewarding. The staff has always been kind and resourceful; we were always ready to help each other out. The tutors work together to solve problems to ensure that the students are getting the best possible support for their school work and are able to properly understand the material to build their confidence to do the work on their own. I loved working with my peers and being able to help so many students coming in and out of the centre over the years.
